This is a great room where we can all slave away at our paper-work in peace or discuss our cases with each other. Everyone has their own computer, email, internet access and phone. It all makes communication within the practice, and with clients, suppliers laboratories and external colleagues so much easier. The new computer programme allows much better clarity of patient histories and we can add digital photos of lesions or other conditions to the file, making it easier to monitor progress of cases. We can also send photos directly to experts anywhere to consult where necessary. Every patient has a very thorough clinical record of its history, giving us a clear picture of past & present problems, and sometimes even gives us the basis to predict future problems. We store all the radiographs, scans and ECG (heart pattern) traces in this room along with every letter and blood report we get. Later these are taken to long-term storage and have to be kept for 7 years, though we usually keep them for longer.
