CONSULTING ROOM

Station House Reception

The "front Line" of small animal practice where we do the first examination of any animal which is bought to see us. Routinely we weigh them just outside on the scales and check their microchip, if they have one. This helps us to give the correct dosage of drugs and also to monitor weight gain or loss, which can be useful in picking up health changes. Heavy dogs, or nervous dogs stay on the floor for their examination. This is a big help for our backs too! Cats and smaller pets are usually examined on the table. We keep the windows closed in case of escapees! When we can, we like to put the work straight into the computer at the time of consultation, so that you can pay at the time and save on postage and cheques. This also benefits us with less bills to send out. Minor treatments are carried out in here such as nail clipping, micro-chipping and vaccines; more serious injuries will go through the other door to the treatment room
