OPERATING THEATRE/X-RAY FACILITY

Operating theatre and X-Ray Facility

All we have permanently in here is the adjustable table and fixed operating theatre light: otherwise it is completely empty. It is designed like this to facilitate cleanliness-no little nooks and crannies for bugs to hide in! Even the plastic handle we use to manoeuvre the light when we are operating, can be sterilised in the autoclave. Sterile surgical equipment packs can be accessed from the double sided cupboard, and put on the trolley: the anaesthetic machine and gases can be wheeled in too. When we are x-raying a patient we plug the x-ray machine into the red sockets on the wall. These sockets automatically trigger the red warning lights outside the door to ensure no one comes in during the radiography session. The yellow box with the red circle is the emergency power put-off in case the x-ray machine malfunctions.
